In our first podcast, Erika Enomoto of the Art History Club (not at all affiliated with the University of Hawaii at Manoa because it costs too much to legally say that) takes us through the mysterious bowels of the University of Hawaii at Manoa’s 2014 Bachelor of Fine Arts exhibit: What is it? Why does it matter? Why was it so damn scandalous with all the Pause puns?
And Kaui Hart Hemmings visits us at Lana Lane Studios’ recording studio to talk about her new book “The Possibilities.” The book is funny, it’s sad, it’s a great follow-up to her 2008 novel, “The Descendants”—and, like that book, “The Possibilities” might be a movie, too. Jason Reitman has already optioned it, and the book came out, like, a week ago. Hemmings tells us what that even means. Can’t wait for the movie? Get the book here!
Here is the art we saw and talked about:
“‘Imi” – Nanea Lum
Theresa Heinrich — “Broken For You” BONUS! Theresa is looking for a place to donate the piece. If you have a wall that needs some art, email [email protected]
Kenny Lui — “Linger” (To hear Kenny cry for yourself, call 450-3006, #910)
Laura Konecne — “It’s A Horsecase Scenario”
